Unfortunately, there are no plans for a Hong Kong release yet, but Bandai Visual Japan confirms that English, at least, will be one of the several languages the show will be translated into. The series is set to be released as six 50-minute episodes on Blu-Ray and DVD. Kuriyama has also worked with cult director Quentin Tarantino. Also attending were the series director, Furuhashi Kazuhiro ( Rurouni Kenshin, Hunter X Hunter ), and the writer of the Gundam Unicorn light novel series, Harutoshi Fukui.Ĭhiaki Kuriyama, whose debut single Ryusei no Namida (Tears of a Falling Star) is the theme song to the series, was also at the premiere. A group of lucky Hong Kong fans were able to watch the show alongside some local celebrities. The world premiere of the series' first episode took place on February 6 at Elements' Grand Cinema. The story takes place in the Universal Century timeline three years after the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, and sees another young boy take the controls of a mobile suit to fight the Zeon Forces. A youth named Banagher Links, who grew up without knowing his father, meets a mysterious girl who has stowed away on a ship bound for Industrial 7. Anime fans who have been desperate for some new action from the Gundam franchise can rejoice: a new series is set to be released in Japan this spring called Gundam Unicorn.
